One : Wildlife
and Waterfalls trip:

Staring out from the Umgeni
Valley Nature Reserve a brief cycle through the reserve, viewing wildlife and fantastic views,
is followed by a longer cycle out along forest roads to the
pick-up point. The longer day trips continue the adventure after lunch,
culminating in some of the best single track the province offers. Alternatively
a vehicle transfer ensures comfortable return to Howick in the afternoon
or after sundowners at the 'Falls.

Two: Woodlands and waterfalls trip:
(The All-Day Trip!)
40 – 50 km
Setting
out from Umgeni Nature Valley Reserve, we take in the beauty of the nature
reserve, before a brief vehicle transfer through to the
Karkloof forests. After an exhilarating whizz
through the indigenous forests, we cycle down to the Karkloof and Woodhouse
Falls, to enjoy the rest of the afternoon. A vehicle transfer ensures
comfortable return back to Howick.
Trip
Three: Wildlife
and water trip:
30 -40 km
Setting
out from Midmar Dam Reserve entrance, we meander gently around the dam,
taking in bird and wildlife viewing on the way. A launch
ferries you across to the upper reaches
of the dam before you conclude your cycle with a picnic lunch under
the shady trees of the reserve. As
normal, vehicle transfers assist in getting you back to your accommodation
point.

Four: Simply
Cycle : distance entirely group-dependant
Based
from most of the Midlands Meander accommodation providers, BTSA, offer the more
experienced cycling
visitors a chance to explore the countryside around their lodge.
These trips vary dependant upon lodge and ability of the guests.
This trip is for experienced cyclists only, as the back-up vehicle only comes out
in emergencies! (Tired legs and "brambled" legs are not considered an emergency!)
Game
and vista viewing are the highlights on these trips!
